MIDTOWN, Manhattan -- Starting Monday, repairs begin on the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. The work is needed to fix damage from Superstorm Sandy.

The Manhattan-bound tube will be closed weekday nights for the next 18 months.

The tunnel will close Monday through Friday at 10:30 p.m. and reopen the next morning at 5:30 a.m.

During those times, the other tube will become two-way, with just one lane in each direction.
