Video captures tree falling on pickup truck

BOONTON TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (WABC) -- Video from a police dash camera captured the terrifying moments when a tree fell over onto a moving pickup truck in Morris County, New Jersey, Monday.

Boonton Township police said the driver of the truck was heading west on Rockaway Valley Road when strong winds caused a large tree to snap, falling down onto the road and striking the truck.

The driver of the truck couldn't avoid the crash. The video shows the truck going airborne before resting on top of the tree.

The police officer, who was heading eastbound at the time, was able to swerve away and avoid slamming into the trunk.

Thankfully, neither the driver of the pickup truck nor the officer was hurt in the incident.
