Alleged prostitute, 14-year-old son charged in Bronx murder
Police say the victim, Calixto Palacios, was discovered dead on the floor of his second-floor apartment on Morris Avenue around 9 a.m. on December 11.

BRONX, New York (WABC) -- A mother who authorities say works as a prostitute and her 14-year-old son have been charged with the murder of a 61-year-old Bronx man.

Police say the victim, Calixto Palacios, was discovered dead on the floor of his second-floor apartment on Morris Avenue around 9 a.m. on December 11.

The investigation determined that 34-year-old Shamika Mosley took her teenage son to the man's apartment, and during what is suspected to have been a robbery attempt, Palacios was stabbed seven times.

Mosley and her son, Antwon Prince, were picked up by detectives Thursday. During questioning, they say Mosley blamed the murder on her son.

Both were charged with murder and robbery. Mosley has a prior arrest in March of 2016 for trespassing and possession of crack cocaine.
