BUSHWICK, Brooklyn - One teen was found fatally shot and another was wounded in Brooklyn overnight Friday.

"Do you know why?" Eyewitness News Reporter N.J. Burkett asked the victim.

"I don't know, I don't know," said Tyshamik Manuel, the victim's cousin.

Tears were streaming down the cheek where the bullet grazed her face.

Manuel was walking down Broadway with her cousins when the gunman suddenly opened fire.

"Everything seemed normal. We were walking, laughing, playing. Everybody was just chilling, and out of nowhere it just happened. Two minutes later we turned the corner and it just happened," Manuel said.

People ran for their lives.. As the gunshots and the screams echoed up and down the block.

One of the teens, 17 year-old Keith Kyser was hit twice in the chest and was dead within minutes. A 14-year-old male cousin was struck in the leg and survived.

Manuel was nearly killed, herself, and showed Eyewitness News the mark where a bullet whizzed past her head.

"It just slid through, it slid through and I just, and I kept running, like, it shocked me and I just kept running," Manuel said.

It happened at 2 a.m., and investigators spent several hours recovering ballistics evidence.

But investigators are convinced this was not a random crime.

"We do believe they were approached by at least one, maybe two, individuals who displayed a firearm and started shooting at them," said Assistant Chief Jeffrey Maddrey, NYPD Brooklyn North Patrol Bureau Commander.

The motive was not immediately clear.

The NYPD's Chief of Detectives told reporters that at least one person was being questioned in the case.

Manuel says she can't believe she's alive and that her cousin is dead.

"We never left each other's side for anything, for anything or for anybody," Manuel said. "We were always there for each other. Now I can't even see him no more."

One person is said to be in custody, but detectives are still trying to determine his role.

One of the victims had just left a party at that person's house, but the dispute is not believed to have stemmed from it.
