Senior Digital Producer
WABC-TV Eyewitness News seeks an experienced and motivated leader to help lead our growing digital video efforts. The right candidate will be a strong journalist with a passion for storytelling and experience producing digital content, developing creative videos and producing live events. The person in this position should have a proven track record in producing digital content across multiple platforms.

Job duties include overseeing digital video production and distribution; helping to develop video strategy and priorities for the team; working with newsroom staff and across departments to help others develop skills and produce original content.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience producing and overseeing high quality journalistic videos, excellent writing and editing skills, experience with DLSR and other cameras, experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects), knowledge of trends in digital video, comfortable inventing and working with new formats such as 360 video, outstanding communication and organizational skills, able to set priorities, maintain overview and perspective, while managing many projects simultaneously.

Digital Technology Specialist
WABC-TV, New York is looking for a Digital Technology Specialist. The candidate will be involved in nearly every technical aspect of creating and executing live television programs as well as content for social media platforms.

Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining major technical systems as well as production of live news, remote broadcasts, syndicated programming and social media events.

Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to pivot and manage changing priorities and tight deadlines of the department. The successful candidate will possess strong information technology and networking skills and media over IP. The TV station runs a 24/7 operation and the candidate will be required to work non-traditional shifts, weekends and holidays and should have the ability to lift and carry equipment as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with television studio production, video servers, broadcast automation systems, master control operations, and news room systems is preferred. Ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose broadcast facility technical issues and problems quickly and methodically. Proficient in IT desktop support for Windows & MAC systems & Servers, software applications, local disk storage systems and virtual environments.

Preferred Education:
A degree in a technical related field, appropriate certifications, or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.

A minimum of 5 years of television experience preferred

You must have outstanding news judgment, be able to pitch great story ideas and have a great production sense. Freelance ENG Field News Photographers
WABC-TV, New York, is seeking experienced and proactive ENG Field News Photographers for freelance employment. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of daily local newsgathering.

Skills and experience needed:
  • Microwave live truck operation
  • Bonded-cellular transmission technologies (Dejero, LiveU, etc)
  • Excellent technical and creative abilities as a News Photographer
  • Ability to edit full packages quickly under tight deadlines
  • Regular experience as a one person crew i.e., shoot, edit, and set up live shots

Special consideration will be given to a candidate who also has experience in RF operations:
  • Ability to tune in microwave signals and assigning to receivers during live broadcast
  • Able to manually tune in satellite signals when needed
  • Able to multi-task between multiple crews calling in to establish signals
  • Adaptable to ever-changing situations during live shows
  • Maintains a cool head when communicating with field crews, Directors, Media Managers, and Producers

Knowledge of the tri-state area is important. Must be willing to work all shifts - day, night, overnight and weekends.
