No new trial for driver in Brink's robbery

A federal appeals court has slammed the prison door shut on a domestic terrorist who seemed on the verge of a new trial on charges of murdering two police officers in the notorious Brinks robbery. Judith Clark was convicted of being a getaway driver in a 1981 armored-truck robbery in Nanuet that killed three people, including two police officers. Clark, now 57, is serving a 75-year prison sentence at the Bedford Hills Correctional Center in Westchester.

The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals said Clark knowingly chose to skip her 1983 trial after demanding she be allowed to represent herself. The court added that Clark's claim that her constitutional rights were violated "has no merit whatsoever."
