A worker was being treated after falling into a downtown Brooklyn construction site Tuesday morning. Authorities say the worker fell about 20 feet into a large pit at the site, located at the intersection of Dekalb Avenue and Rockwell Place, just before 11:15 a.m.

Emergency workers used a pulley to lift the man out of the construction pit.

The site is the future home of a 36-story apartment building that will house 369 residential units.

It will join a growing list of high-rise apartment buildings that are beginning to dot the downtown Brooklyn skyline, along what planners are calling the Flatbush Avenue corridor.

The site used to be a low-rise building known as 10 MetroTech. The building was demolished last year.
