Officer-involved shooting in Stamford

Suspect allegedly advanced towards cops

An officer-involved shooting was reported in Stamford, Connecticut, Tuesday. Authorities say the incident happened right across the street from Rogers Elementary School.

Eyewitness News reporter Shannon Sohn has the latest.

The situation unfolded shortly after 3 p.m., when police got a 911 phone call from a woman who said she was being threatened by a man with a knife inside her home.

When police responded, they say the man advanced toward them. They, in turn, shot and wounded him. He reported has non-life threatening injuries.

The woman was unharmed, according to authorities.
