Teen stabbed on handball court

Boy in critical condition Authorities say three kids, ages 15 and 16, were playing handball on the court behind Hempstead High School when eight Hispanic males, all wearing masks, approached them coming down a hill.

The teens were reportedly ordered against a fence, along the court.

Police say one of the boys turned around, and when he did, he was stabbed in the chest.

He is listed in critical condition at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre.

Authorities believe this was a robbery. They say cell phones and cash were taken.

Police are investigating if the suspects are gang members.
