Fire teams arrived to find that cold, whipping winds helped the fire spread fast and made it jump from one building to another.
Eighteen families were displaced by the fire. Most were able to escape on their own, but it was too soon to tell Monday evening whether everyone got out in time. Authorities said it was simply too hot still to go in.
Seventy five firefighters were out in treacherous conditions fighting this fire. In the cold weather, the water they were using was freezing to their equipment as they worked.
Two firefighters suffered injuries, but there is no indication of any serious injuries so far.
