Construction worker plunges to his death

A construction worker plunged to his death at a construction site in Jersey City Tuesday. Authorities say the man fell 30 feet at the site at 110 Romaine Avenue just before 11 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was employed by Edison Heating and Cooling. Authorities plan to cite the construction company involved for not having safety equipment on the scene.Authorities say 38-year-old Hunberto Nunez fell 30 feet at the site at 110 Romaine Avenue just before 11 a.m.

Nunez was employed by Edison Heating and Cooling, reportedly working on renovations on an attachment to the St. Elizabeth child care facility.

Authorities may cite the construction company involved for not having safety equipment on the scene.

Police also confirmed Nunez was not wearing his safety gear.
