If you need to jump start your diet or find a way to prepare meals on a busy schedule -- the solution could be getting meals to go. They're not fast food, but healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners that are delivered to your doorstep every morning. Eyewitness News reporter Lucy Yang explains.

"This is the time of life where you look in that drawer, look at a picture of yourself when you're 24 and say, 'I want to go back to the way I looked when I was young'," dieter Bill Stanton says.

Over the years, Bill Stanton had packed on the pounds.

Back in December, the security analyst and radio personality weighed in at 222 pounds.

He knew he needed a better diet, so he signed up for Nu-Kitchen, a company that specializes in cooking up healthy meals for home delivery.

He's already dropped 15 pounds.

"It literally like the restaurant coming to you everyday, with great food, low-calorie, and you lose weight. It's not even like I'm on a diet," said Stanton.

Nu-Kitchen has a number of diet and lifestyle programs.

Bill is doing Nu-Kitchen 200 to lose weight.

Clients get nutritional counseling and also a metabolic check to count how many calories they burn a day.

"It enables us to figure out precisely the calories that client is supposed to eat and we tailor our program for that person," says Mark Newhouse, Nu-Kitchen.

No matter what the program, clients just sign up online. And it can be worked around a person's needs and schedule.

"It's completely flexible -- you can order as many or as little of the meals as you like," Newhouse says.

Nu-Kitchen's kitchen is located in Central Islip. And an on-site nutritionist makes sure the recipes are healthy.

Daily meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. And the menu is constantly changing.

"You're going see everything from, flank steak with mushroom ragu, that's one of our new kitchen menu items," according to Newhouse.

And everything is made from scratch the day before delivery.
