Teen arrested in fatal stabbing

16-year-old victim died of multiple stab wounds
The victim, also just 16, was stabbed in his apartment building on West 31st Street in Coney Island.

Now, his family is demanding to know why security in the building did nothing to help him.

Eyewitness News reporter Stacey Sager has the story.

Sources tell Eyewitness News that an argument over marijuana and who should have it prompted the incident. Now, a one 16-year-old is facing charges while another is dead.

Authorities say Terrance McMillan, Jr. was stabbed repeatedly during a brawl in the fourth-floor hallway of Sea Park West Apartments at 2929 West 31st Street just before 12:15 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at Coney Island Hospital.

"That's my baby boy, and I want something done," the victim's mother, Denise Jones, said.

She is demanind justice, and now it appears police have some answers.

Damon Sebastion, a friend of McMillan, says Terrance wasn't the type of kid who looked for trouble.

"He went to school, he worked out," Sebastion said. "He was into working out a lot, he wasn't into the violence like that."

Some residents in the privately-owned building say security guards could've responded more quickly, especially since rent for some is nearly $2,000 a month and security cameras line the hallway of the building.

"Security guards, they don't do anything," neighbor Lisa Sebastion said. "They let anybody in the building. One of the boys came out, he got blood all over him. And they don't question him."

The suspect is reportedly charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He is expected to be charged as an adult.
