Cop hurt when minivan hits motorcycle

ELIZABETH Authorities say the officer was on his motorcycle when he was hit at the intersection of Third Avenue and South 7th Street.

His motorcycle was hit by a minivan in the intersection just before 9:30 a.m., according to police.

The officer, assigned to the traffic division, was taken to nearby Trinitas Hospital. His injuries were reportedly serious, but not life threatening.

The minivan stopped at the scene. The driver was not immediately charged.
