Police say the 23-year-old victim was shot in the head on the sidewalk in front of 107-56 Sutphin Boulevard just after 4:30 a.m.
Eyewitnes News is told he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests were immediately made.
Police closed lanes on busy Sutphin Boulevard while they investigated the scene.
