One million car seats recalled

NEW YORK-WABC Authorities say the units have a convenience base that attaches to the vehicle seat. Parents can put the seat in and out, but the base remains mounted in the car.

Tests conducted by NHTSA and Evenflo apparently find that this seat has the potential to come detached from the base in high-impact side collisions.

The product has been recalled by the company. The affected models are 390, 391 and travel systems containing models 534 and 552.

The products were manufactured between April 2005 and January 2008.
