Accused policeman's DNA not found on dead immigrant

Immigrant was found dead in Westchester last year
NEW YORK-WABC Prosecutor Perry Perrone said Wednesday in County Court that Mount Kisco Police Officer George Bubaris' DNA did not match any DNA found on the body or clothing of Rene Perez. The Guatemalan immigrant was found dying on the side of a road in Bedford last April.

Bubaris is charged with manslaughter. Prosecutors allege he drove Perez to an out-of-the-way area, inflicted blunt force trauma to his abdomen and left him to die.

The DNA evidence could be used to argue against any claim that Bubaris hit Perez with his fist, though it would not be as persuasive against claims he hit Perez with an object.
