Stabbed body found in LI parking lot

A North Carolina man's stabbed body has been found in a Long Island parking lot.Nassau County police say a pedestrian passing by the Hempstead lot early Sunday morning saw the man lying on the ground and called for help. Police determined the man had been stabbed several times in the torso.

The man was taken to a hospital in East Meadow, where he was pronounced dead.

He has been identified by police as 22-year-old Javier Antonio Cuevas, of Lenior, North Carolina. An investigation indicates he was stabbed at a nearby intersection and stumbled to the parking lot.

Police say there were no witnesses. No weapon has been recovered.
