They said nearly a dozen workshops will be held to teach parishioners how to spot predatory lenders, find the best loans and arrange refinancing.
Schumer says Brooklyn and Queens have some of the highest foreclosure rates in the country.
The workshops will be conducted in English, Spanish and Creole, depending on the languages spoken in the communities.
