Lawyer: Cleaver murder suspect fit for trial

NEW YORK Attorney Bryan Konoski told The Associated Press on Friday that David Tarloff was found fit after being examined by two psychiatrists at Bellevue Hospital Center, where he has been held since his arrest.

Konoski said he planned to ask a judge to appoint another psychiatrist to examine Tarloff.

The lawyer spoke to the AP while awaiting a possible indictment announcement at Manhattan Criminal Court.

Tarloff previously was arraigned on second-degree murder and other charges. He was arrested after investigators matched his palm prints with those at the bloody Manhattan office where therapist Kathryn Faughey was killed on Feb. 12.
