New York City police say a man arguing over a debt stabbed two people in a midtown Manhattan diamond firm. The 38-year-old man was taken into custody Monday, but the charges were not immediately determined.

Police said the man went into the business to settle a debt with the two victims - a 36-year-old man and a 41-year-old man.

The first man was stabbed in the chest and the second in the hand. The victims were at Bellevue Hospital. A spokeswoman wouldn't disclose their conditions, but police said their injuries weren't life-threatening. It wasn't clear if the victims were also robbed.

The incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. at 45th Street near Fifth Avenue.
