A Long Island school janitor is being charged with endangering the welfare of two teenage girls, to whom he allegedly gave gifts and love notes. Nassau County Police say 43-year-old Francisco Avila worked at the Lynbrook Middle School.

Police say on Dec. 21 a gift bag with a key chain and note were left in the locker of a 13-year-old girl.

On Valentine's Day, police say, Avila left candies for the girl. Police say the next day he asked her to come to his office, where he gave her a pack of gum with a $100 bill inside and his cell phone number written on the bill.

Also on Feb. 15, police say Avila text messaged a 14-year-old girl inviting her to the movies.

Avila was arrested Thursday night at his Uniondale home. Police did not know if he had an attorney.
