Toddler crushed by television in NJ

LINDEN Police say the boy was at his home, located at 813 Erudo Street in Linden, with a female relative while his parents were at work.

Authorities say he asked to watch a DVD on the family's 40-inch television.

"When she turned to get the DVD, somehow the TV fell over and hit him in the head,'' Linden Police Sergeant Matthew Marcino told the Star Ledger.

He was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Newark, but he suffered severe head trauma and died.

An investigation is ongoing, but officials do not believe any foul play was involved.

"It appears this was just a tragic accident," Marcino told the newspaper.
