Three-alarm fire broke out in Brooklyn

Three-alarm fire spreads to four floors of Brooklyn building
BROOKLYN Wind-whipped flames made an overnight fire in Brooklyn especially difficult to battle.

The Fire Department says three civilians and one firefighter suffered minor injuries.

The three-alarm blaze was reported around 12:30 a.m. in a building on Jefferson Avenue, near the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.

Firefighters say flames spread through parts of all the building's four floors, seriously damaging at least the fourth floor.

It took two hours to contain the flames as firefighters raced through the building's four floors.

The fire was under control by 2:30 a.m..

The blaze sent one firefighter to the hospital, but the three civilians declined medical attention. The injured firefighter is expected to be O.K.
