Lt. Gov. Paterson holds meetings

Paterson will become New York's first black governor Monday
NEW YORK "David Paterson is a good friend of mine," Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said. "I want David to be the best possible governor this state can have."

Politics is taking a back seat to a budget that is $5 billion in the red, and the meetings Friday with different lawmakers were all about fixing New York's money crisis.

So now it's up to Paterson to fix a badly broken budget that's due in two weeks.

"The sides are very far apart,' Paterson said. "They have completely different ideas on how to solve the problem."

Paterson added that Barack Obama offered any help he might be able to provide in the future, but Paterson reiterated he supports Hillary Clinton for president.
