Study urges no antibiotics for sinusitis

ENGLAND An article in the journal "The Lancet" is urging doctors to stop prescribing antibiotics to the vast majority of their patients with sinus infections.

That's because most of those infections are caused by viruses, not bacteria, so the medicine doesn't help.

But there's still a cost - the growing problem of antibiotic resistance.

In the end, studies show the best course of treatment is time and rest.
