A former New Jersey man has been charged with killing his mistress, who vanished in June. Rosario DiGirolamo stands accused of killing Amy Giordano of Hightstown. Giordano's body has never been found.

DiGirolamo's lawyer says authorities arrested his client Thursday at his parents' home in Brooklyn, and that DiGirolamo is ready to defend himself against the allegations.

Authorities say the couple had a child, Michael DiGirolamo, who is in foster care. The baby was found abandoned in a parking lot of the Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware after his mother disappeared in June.

Authorities say DiGirolamo went to Italy after the boy was abandoned, then later returned to the U.S. and turned himself over to authorities.
