Nassau reports lowest TB cases ever

LONG ISLAND The Nassau County health department says there were 44 confirmed cases of TB in the county in 2007. A year earlier, there were 52 confirmed cases.

Since 1998, the rate has decreased 49 percent when 90 confirmed cases were reported.

The health department says TB is disproportionally high among the foreign born, minorities and those living in poverty.
