Two people were killed and a third was wounded in a triple shooting in Newark. Now police hope surveillance video will help them catch the killer.

The gunfire erupted outside the Oasis bar on Lyons Avenue Thursday night.

Eyewitness News reporter Thalia Patillo has more from outside University Hospital in Newark.

The triple shooting follows a deadly shooting just a day earlier marking Newark's 8th and 9th murders of the year.

Police say two men were killed and a third person was wounded in the shooting, which occurred about 9:55 p.m. Thursday in front of the Oasis Bar on Lyons Avenue.

The first identified as 39 year-old Maurice Silas, the second victim was identified as 45 year-old Kasan Prince, the third and only surviving victim is being identified as 25 year-old Shouki Lee.

Silas was transported to University Hospital where he later died from multiple gun shot wounds to the head and torso.

Prince was transported to Beth Israel Hospital where he died a short time later from a single gun shot wound to the leg.

Prince's mother said she believes her son wasn't targeted.

"He was a good son. He wasn't perfect and none of us is perfect," Janet Prince, victim's mother, said. "But to me, he was good."

Lee was also transported to University Hospital where he was treated for a gun shot wound to the leg. He is listed in stable condition.

Police say they have no suspects and no motive.

The three victims all have been arrested for narcotics and weapons. Investigators are looking into three victims prior criminal histories.

Detectives are seeking the public's assistance and urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about this incident or any other crimes in Newark to call the Department's "Crime Stoppers" anonymous tip line at 877 NWK-TIPS or NWK-GUNS.
