A second-alarm fire burned through a row of vacant homes in Irvington Tuesday morning. Officials say the fire, which started at around 12:45 a.m., spread from one boarded-up home to another on Grove Street.

In all, four buildings were burned in the fire.

Officials say it took firefighters several hours to battle the flames. No injuries were immediately reported and the cause is under investigation.

The night before, a nearby vacant home went up in flames. That fire was blamed on squatters.
