Possible murder-suicide in NJ

Incident occurred in Jersey City
Jersey City Relatives living in the building knew something was wrong. When they went to apt. 202, there was the smell of a lit stove and the sound of running water.

"I could only see one person laying on the floor in a blanket in a pool of blood," said Ken Meeney, the building super.

He was looking at the tragic end of a murder suicide. The blood-stained carpet tells the story.

When family members hadn't heard from the male tenant living in the apartment in several days, they reached out to Meeney, who knocked down the door shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.

When the door was down, they found a man dead and a woman, believed to be the man's ex-girlfriend, lying next to him in the entry way. There were signs of an intense fight. Both were said to be nude and covered with slashes.

"A cut mark on her chest, and cut marks on the forearms," Meeney said. "The female I really couldn't see, because when I opened the door, she had a blanket covering her face."

A BB gun was also found laying next to the bodies, and pellet marks were also said to be covering the bodies.

Meeney says the tenant living in that apartment had been living there for a few years and was a handyman. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending family notification.
