Animal cruelty investigators are trying to find out who dumped more than 200 kittens over the last year along the same stretch of road in Onondaga County. Casey Newton of Forever Friends Cat Animal Rescue says 37 kittens have been abandoned in the past three weeks in Lysander, just north of Syracuse.

Newton and investigators believe they're all coming from the same place because many of the cats look alike and most have eight toes on each paw. Newton believes the kittens are from at least eight different mothers.

SPCA cruelty investigator Paul Morgan says abandoning an animal is a misdemeanor under state law.
