Long Island tax preparer indicted

Accused of stealing almost $19 million.
GARDEN CITY Prosecutors say Diana Allifi used personal information from her clients and filed electronic tax returns with both the IRS and New York tax department, indicating that any refunds be sent directly to her Riverhead home office. She is also accused of obtaining bank loans using the anticipated tax refunds as collateral.

She pleaded not guilty to identity theft, forgery and other charges Wednesday at her arraignment and was ordered held on $1 million cash bail or $2 million bond.
