The Water Board says the proposed 4.5 percent rate increase will help pay for the city's water and sewage system expenses.

You can weigh in during the upcoming rounds of public hearings needed before the proposal can be approved.

The last water rate hike, just last July, hiked rates by 11.5 percent.
