Volunteers joined in NYC spring cleaning

NEW YORK Riverside park got a spring cleaning Saturday -- thanks to volunteers from New York Cares.

As part of the 14th annual "Hands On New York Day" -- some 6,500 volunteers spread throughout the city.

They spruced up parks and gardens, community centers and schools, homeless shelters and playgrounds.

They also planted 20,000 trees in all five boroughs in support of the "Million Trees NYC" project.
