Subway hero honored for rescue

An ordinary citizen was honored Wednesday for an extraordinary act that saved a man's life.Veeramuthu Kalimuthu was hailed a hero at City Hall in Lower Manhattan today.

Last month, the Queens man rescued another man who had collapsed onto the subway tracks at the 116th Street station.

Kalimuthu ran across the tracks and over the third rail to hoist the man to safety.

He is hoping that the man whose life he saved will come forward so that he can see him once again.
