Carjacking on Long Island

A carjacking was reported on Long Island Wednesday night. The incident happened at a Gulf gas station on New Hyde Park Road in New Hyde Park.

Authorities say a male suspect, approximately 6-foot-5 and wearing a mask approached, a black Santa Fe vehicle. The suspect allegedly carjacked the vehicle, with a male and two females still inside.

Police say the suspect forced the male out of the vehicle near the Cross Island Parkway and then took off with the females still inside. The car was found later with the two girls inside.

Police believe that the suspect and the victims knew each other.
