Students accused of setting school fire

Police question students in 72nd Precinct

Police say a number of students broke into a Park Slope, Brooklyn, middle school last night and started a small fire in the teachers lounge. The students, as many as seven, busted into M.S. 88 Peter Rouget School at 544 7th Avenue at around 6:15 p.m. according to police.

Authorities say the students were able to break into the school and started a small fire in the teachers' lounge.

The fire department was called and put it out.

The school was able was to repaint the lounge and school was open this morning.

There was minimal damage to the room.

Suspected students were called into the principal's office. They were then taken to the 72nd Precinct for questioning.

Police told the parents that the group was caught on videotape.
