Fierce fire tears through Yonkers bakery

Fire broke out inside the Birrittella & Mancini bakery

A third-alarm fire that burned through a Yonkers bakery lit up the night sky -- and left 15 residents homeless. Eyewitness News is told fhe fire broke out inside the Birrittella & Mancini bakery at 171 Willow Street just before 3 a.m. this morning.

Heavy flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the three-story building. The fire damaged the first floor bakery and apartments above.

Officials say no one was was injured, but 15 residents, including nine children, were left homeless.

According to repors two families have been given temporary housing. A third family is staying with relatives.
