Two teens killed in accident in Newark

NEWARK Police say the 2008 Toyota Solara was speeding at 100 mph at the time of the accident early Saturday. After flipping off the ramp, it struck an Eagle Summit. The car then hit a wall and caught fire.

The driver, 17-year-old David Figueroa, was trapped in the burning car and died.

Police pulled the front-seat passenger, 17-year-old Lucas Lopez, from the car but he was pronounced dead at the scene two.

The car had two backseat passengers -- 16-year-old Tyme Jones of Elizabeth and 17-year-old Holly White of Linden. Both of them got out of the car with minor injuries.

The driver of the Summit, 45-year-old Jose Pereira, had minor injuries.
