Fleeing Man Shot by NYPD

NEW YORK It happened on Foch Boulevard around 9:20 p.m. Sunday. Police say the suspect is in stable condition at a hospital in Queens. He has not been identified.

Police say the plainclothes officers stopped a car carrying three men. One man got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers pursued. Police say the suspect shot at them and the officers returned fire, hitting the man in the leg and the arm.

Police say a semiautomatic handgun was recovered.
