One of the victims, a 58-year-old woman, suffered cuts and bruises to her face, arms and legs.
The other woman, 68 years old, was taken to the hospital with head and hand injuries. She was later released.

RAHWAY Police say the man approached the women outside St. Mark's Church on Hamilton Street. He allegedly struck them before running off with their purses.
