Christie: Undocumented immigrants not breaking law

NEW JERSEY New Jersey's top federal law enforcer surprised many at the First United Methodist Church of Dover Sunday.

Christie says there's a serious immigration problem in the United States. But he says according to federal law, it's not up to the U.S. Attorney's Office to throw people out.

He says -- quoting here -- "being in this country without proper documentation is not a crime."

The Republican appointed by President Bush says law enforcement needs to crack down when undocumented immigrants break laws and the U.S. should have tight border security to keep out the undocumented.
