Restaurant manager stabbed while hailing cab

NEW YORK Police say George Attaberry, a manager of Grayz restaurant, was attacked on the corner of Second Avenue and East 40th Street just before 8 a.m.

Attaberry was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Attaberry has said he was hailing a taxi cab at the time of the attack, but the story he is telling detectives is described as inconsistent.

He was bleeding from the head when he was taken to the hospital.

Grayz, owned and operated by Chef Gray Kunz, is described as a "twist" on a traditional restaurant with the main focus on small plates and unique finger foods.

Grayz encompasses a luxurious bar, lounge, and two private dining venues. It is located in the former Rockefeller home, a landmark building.
