Six cases of salmonella at Princeton U.

PRINCETON That brings the total to six cases of the bacteria reported at the university today.

State health officials are trying to determine if the cases are related to more than 70 Princeton students who have come down with stomach flu-like symptoms in recent weeks.

School doctors and health officials are reviewing the sick students' recent eating histories to search for a possible link between the cases.

But a university spokeswoman said the six students who tested positive for Salmonella had more serious symptoms than those complaining of stomach illness, so the cases may not be related.
