One 15-year old boy is dead and another is fighting for his life after both were struck by a New Jersey transit train as they walked along the tracks. The accident happened Friday night in Nanuet.

Eyewitness News reporter Carolina Leid has more.

Right now about 50 kids are inside Nanuet Senior High School talking to counselors and working through the raw emotions.

There are counselors inside right now with students. They've been inside for an hour.

This morning the district had students for about two hours.

Students are mourning the death of 15-year-old Connor Corish and hoping his friend Chris Cipolli makes it through.

He's in critical condition.

An MTA spokesperson says the two were on the railroad right-of-way when they were hit by a commuter train between Spring Valley, Nanuet around 6:30 Friday night.

Students quickly text messaged one another about the tragedy and came here today to cope.

Friends told Eyewitness News both were extremely good athletes, extremely good friends and will be solely missed.
