FLEET WEEK NYC 2008

NEW YORK Fleet Week includes dozens of military demonstrations and displays throughout the week, as well as public visitation of many of the participating ships.

May 21 - 28, 2008

Wednesday, May 21:

  • 9:30-noon Parade of Ships & Aircraft fly-over the Hudson River from Verrazano Bridge to George Washington Bridge: Narrators will be at Stapleton Pier, SI & Fort Hamilton
  • 7pm NY Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY

    Thursday, May 22:

  • 8am-5pm Public visitation of ship in Manhattan Pier 88, 48th St & 12th Ave/West Side Hwy

  • 6:30am-1:30pm Blood Drive Hangar Bay onboard LHD, Pier 88, 48th St & 12th Ave/West Side Hwy
  • 8am-5pm USCG & Auxiliary Outreach Display Stapleton Pier

  • 8:15am-10:30am Vocalist American Stock Exchange Opening Bell
  • 9am-11am World Trade Center Run Service members along with reps from NYPD, FDNY & PAPD will run a 2-mile route to the World Trade Center site and conduct a wreath laying ceremony.
  • 10am-10:30am US Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue demo Off of Staten Island Homeport Pier
  • 3pm-5pm Helicopter Raid demo Orchard Beach, Pelham Bay Park, Bronx
  • 5pm-6pm Navy Band will perform a public concert Times Square Recruiting Station
