Cops look for man in kiddie porn case

NEW YORK Authorities say on Wednesday, May 14, pursuant to an investigation regarding child pornography, investigators executed a search warrant at 646 9th Avenue. As a result of the investigation, detectives confiscated a computer which contained child pornography.

The individual wanted for questioning is identified as 29-year-old Fred Glen Hardy.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's CrimeStoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

Sources tell Eyewitness News that last week, a New York City detective called the director at the University of New Mexico's Children's Campus in relation to the case.

Hardy apparently worked at a preschool and daycare on and off between 2003 and 2006 when he was a student at the college. A source says he also worked at Park Avenue child care center in Manhattan. The source says Hardy worked with kids between the ages of 1 and 12.

Officials with the New Mexico children's center say Hardy went through a rigorous interview and FBI screening before getting hired. They say he was also under the supervision of a teacher, and they never noticed anything suspicious about him.

There is no indication that any children in the New Mexico program were involved with the child porn case. Still, parents of children who had contact with Hardy have been notified.
