Man killed in hit and run

Woman, man holding her baby are run over along NY highway
QUEENS, NY All three were walking near Sunrise Highway when the driver hit them. In fact, the man was holding the baby.

Eyewitness News reporter Thalia Patillo has mroe.

Police are hunting for the driver of the car that struck 28-year old Yone Auxilly.

Cops say he was walking westbound on the shoulder of sunrise highway with a 22-year-old woman and carrying her 1-year-old infant.

The three had just left Green Acres Mall when a black Nissan Maxima hit them from behind killing Auxilly and throwing the baby from his arms.

Miraculously the infant survived.

He and his mom are recovering at Jamaica Hospital.

An eyewitness Roberto Archibald says after mowing down the three the driver hit his car before speeding off.

The vehicle is described as a black 2000 Nissan Maxima with the New York license plate number DVH1449.
