Broolyn barricade situation ends

BROOKLYN The man held himself up inside 28 St. Marks Place upon the arrival of case workers just after 8:30 a.m.

Police say the man initially refused to allow workers into his apartment to see a young girl inside.

He finally freed the girl, but remained inside the apartment with his brother and six pit bulls.

The man stayed inside for several hours before opening the door sometime after 11 a.m.

He was taken into custody.

The child, who was briefly held against her will, was not injured, police said.

She was not the child case workers were looking for, according to her mother.
